Nel
1992 Magda Olivetti, traduttrice e imprenditrice culturale,
ha fondato a Torino la Scuola Europea di Traduzione
Letteraria. La traduzione letteraria è la forma
più alta di comunicazione culturale fra paesi
di lingua diversa. In Europa esistono scuole per interpreti
congressuali e parlamentari e per traduttori tecnici,
ma i traduttori Letterari sono sempre statì
costretti ad essere degli autodidatti. La SETL è
nata per colmare questa lacuna.

Casa
del Traductor
La
Casa del Traductor es una institución pública
dedicada al fomento de la traducción literaria.
Inspirándose en el primer Colegio Europeo de
Traductores Literarios fundado por Elmar Tophoven en
Straelen (Alemania), la Casa se creó en 1988
a iniciativa de Francisco J. Uriz, traductor de lenguas
nórdicas y Premio Nacional de Traduccion.

Collège
Européen des Traducteurs Littéraires
de Seneffe
Le
Collège accueille toutes les combinaisons linguistiques;
toutefois sa finalité première étant
de promouvoir la traduction de la littérature
francophone de Belgique, la priorité y est
donnée aux traducteurs d’auteurs belges.
Il met à la disposition des résidents
la quasi-totalité des œuvres d’écrivains
belges anciens et contemporains, invite régulièrement
des auteurs belges à des séances de
séminaires et organise des spectacles ou des
lectures dans l’Orangerie et le Petit théâtre
baroque sis dans l’enceinte du château.

web site is testimony to the electronic globalisation
of literature. Nevertheless, the global village of
literature, like Nobel Prize winners and 'world' authors
exists in multilingual national contexts where a Babel
of languages means communication is impossible without
translation Translation has played and plays a key
role in the development of world culture. It is common
to think of culture as national and absolutely distinct.
If we begin to examine the impact of literary translation,
the possibility of communication beyond anything so
confined by geographicallocation is clear.

Is
an international residential centre for writers and
literary translators, located in Visby on Gotland,
Sweden. BCWT is a working and meeting place for literary
professionals. The Centre has eleven studios/rooms
and is open all year round.

and the Human Sciences
The
Center aims at effecting a closer contact between Greek
and foreign literatures, through numerous and diverse
activities. Ekemel is: a workshop for literary translation,
with the emphasis on improving translation practice;
a nursery for translators from which publishers and
professionals in the field will be able to recruit the
competent translators of tomorrow; a focal point for
all those connected with the translation process (writers,
translators, publishers) through a series of events,
seminars and lectures.

La Scuola
superiore di lingue moderne per interpreti e traduttori
è Facoltà universitaria dal 1978 (D.P.R.
6 marzo 1978 n. 102), istituita allo scopo di fornire
la necessaria preparazione tecnica e scientifica a coloro
che intendono dedicarsi all'esercizio della professione
di traduttore o di interprete. Preside della Facoltà
e Direttore del Centro Servizi è il prof. David
Snelling.
Direttore del Dipartimento è il prof. Franco
Crevatin.

Le Giornate
sulla traduzione letteraria concludono e completano
il nuovo Master Redattori Editoriali dell'Università
di Urbino. L'importanza della traduzione in campo editoriale
è infatti indiscutibile: quasi la metà
dei libri stampati in Italia sono traduzioni. Nel campo
della narrativa la percentuale sale al 69,2%, oltre
due romanzi su tre. Dal 1990 a oggi la narrativa straniera
sul nostro mercato è cresciuta dell'86,6% come
numero di copie diffuse e del 37,5% in titoli, e la
tendenza è in aumento (dati Istat).

Il
traduttore editoriale e la traduzione per l'editoria,
Quarta edizione - Milano 2003-2004.
Lo scopo
del corso è quello di far conoscere ai giovani
traduttori, o aspiranti tali, il mondo dell'editoria.
Il corso desidera descrivere nel dettaglio il lavoro
del traduttore editoriale, il suo rapporto con il testo,
con la traduzione, con le redazioni e con gli editori.
Un secondo obiettivo è quello di parlare della
grandissima varietà di testi e di materiali che
l'editoria può proporre oggi a un traduttore.
Alcune lezioni verteranno sui problemi pratici che possono
presentarsi nel tradurre testi diversi. Isabella C.
Blum, docente del corso, traduce per le più importanti
Case Editrici italiane.

Fondata
nel 1950, l'Associazione Italiana Traduttori e Interpreti
(AITI) è un sodalizio senza scopo di lucro
di traduttori e interpreti professionisti. L'AITI
è membro fondatore della Fédération
Internationale des Traducteurs (FIT), organismo non
governativo che intrattiene relazioni formali di consultazione
con l'UNESCO, formato da oltre sessanta Associazioni
nazionali di traduttori e interpreti. L'AITI riconosce
la FIT quale organismo internazionale rappresentativo
della categoria e intrattiene rapporti di scambio
e collaborazione con le associazioni consorelle, accogliendone
i soci sulla base della reciprocità di trattamento.
