Piemonte, GRINZANE FESTIVAL. Letteratura e
Spettacolo. Europa Latina (22-31 agosto 2003).
Dal
22 agosto al 31 agosto 2003 si è svolta in
Piemonte l'ottava edizione del Grinzane Festival,
una rassegna itinerante di letteratura e spettacolo,
realizzata dal Premio Grinzane Cavour, in collaborazione
con la compagnia teatrale Assemblea Teatro e grazie
al contributo dell'Assessorato alla Cultura e dell'Assessorato
al Turismo della Regione Piemonte e all'intervento
della Città di Alba.
In nove Comuni delle Langhe, del Roero e del Monferrato
(Alba, Canelli, Cortanze, Costigliole d'Asti, Dogliani,
Grinzane Cavour, Magliano Alfieri, Montemagno, e Santo
Stefano Belbo) sono stati proposti spettacoli teatrali,
concerti, veglie letterarie e incontri di cultura
materiale, che hanno avuto come tema conduttore l'Europa
Latina.

Book Festival (9-25 August 2003 ).
The
Book Festival is a meeting place where people of all
ages come face to face with some of the greatest writers
and thinkers on the planet.
This year there are hundreds of events to choose from
and lots to do in the gardens - meet your favourite
authors, get involved in a debate, browse the bookshops,
enjoy tasty food and drink, watch as a storybook character
comes alive or simply relax under a tree with a good
book.

agosto-7 settembre 2003).
A
Verbania, sul Lago Maggiore, si svolge quest'anno
la terza edizione della rassegna Editoria e Giardini.
Dal 29 agosto al 7 settembre si ritroveranno gli appassionati
gli editori specializzati in questo settore. Oltre
2.000 titoli rappresenteranno il giardino sotto vari
aspetti: architettura, botanica, fotografia, arte,
tecnica, letteratura, storia, filosofia. Una sezione
sarà dedicata al libro antico e raro e al modernariato
sul giardino.

La
manifestazione è all'insegna del divertimento
culturale e prevede cinque giorni di incontri con
autori, reading, spettacoli, concerti. Festivaletteratura
è un appuntamento fisso per chi ama la lettura
e per chi è semplicemente curioso e sa di poter
incontrare scrittori, musicisti, attori per le vie
e le piazze della città.
In occasione del Festival, Mantova apre le porte di
palazzi monumentali e di giardini privati e offre
le proprie piazze e le proprie strade per incontri
e spettacoli.

Torino, Settimana Letteraria di Giovani Parole
(16 settembre-3 ottobre 2003).
Venerdì
26 settembre avrà inizio la sesta edizione
della Settimana Letteraria di Giovani Parole, la kermesse
letteraria torinese d'inizio autunno dedicata alle
esperienze narrative e professionali di giovani scrittori,
autori affermati, giornalisti e altri protagonisti
del mondo della scrittura. La manifestazione è
organizzata dall'Osservatorio Letterario giovanile
del Settore Gioventù del Comune di Torino,
in collaborazione con Regione Piemonte, Università
e Politecnico di Torino, Fiera del Libro di Torino,
Premio Calvino, Scuola Holden e associazioni giovanili.

nineteenth Göteborg Book Fair, September 25 -
28, is bigger than ever. 544 seminars will be held
during four days with more than 800 authors and lecturers
participating. 54 countries are represented in the
seminar programme which is covering the literature
and current world issues in most parts of the world.

8–13 October 2003, Frankfurt will once again be
the venue for the world's largest trade fair for books,
multimedia and communications. Russia will be the new
Guest of Honour.

authors and publishers, booksellers and librarians,
art dealers and illustrators, agents and journalists,
information brokers and readers.
Not only is the Frankfurt Book Fair the meeting point
for the business, it is also the world's largest marketplace

Gloucestershire writer John Moore organised a gathering
of writers to celebrate the written word in Cheltenham.

International Book Fair in Belgrade is one of the oldest
and most important international book fairs in the world.
The basic aim of the International Book Fair in Belgrade
is to offer the possibility for publishers and booksellers,
distributors and other business partners from all over
the world, to establish business contacts, trade exchange,
buying and selling of rights and other forms of business
cooperation. The special task of the International Book
Fair in Belgrade is to present the complete book production
in Yugoslavia and to introduce the Yugoslav book market
to foreign partners.

Helsinki Book Fair is an annual event for book lovers
which comprises an exhibition and plenty of programme
on stages and at stands. The theme in 2003 will be Books
as Bridge Builders. The Finnish Antiquarian Booksellers
Association will hold its Antiquarian Book Fair 2003
at the Helsinki Fair Centre at the same time. The Finnish
Fair Foundation will also announce the winner of its
annual "I Love Books" award.
